The Best Month To Host A Wedding In Nashville
Wedding season is about to be in full swing here in Nashville, Tennessee, and we are so excited! Sharing these special moments with our couples sparks a fire in our hearts. As we gear up to bring weddings to life, we are also preparing to help our future 2023 and 2024 clients plan their dream weddings!
In Nashville, a few months are ideal for a wedding, especially if you’ve selected an outdoor wedding venue! In today’s blog, we’re sharing our favorite months to get married outdoors in Nashville and recommend a few of our favorite outdoor venues! And make sure you read all the way to the bottom. We’re sharing five essentials for an outdoor wedding - you won’t want to miss this!!
Wedding Season In Nashville - The Months We Love & The Flowers They Bring
Ask anyone in Nashville what the best month weather-wise is, and they’ll probably say something along the lines of September, October, April, and May. And guess what? We totally agree and would say those are the four best months to get married here in Nashville, Tennessee! Personally, my favorite month for weddings in Nashville is April. The weather has warmed up just enough to where it’s not too cold and not too hot, averaging around 70 degrees. April is absolutely beautiful. October is a fan favorite. Who doesn’t love a fall wedding? And the temperature really starts to cool down from the hot summers. Once mid-October hits, we start to see the leaves slowly change and welcome the deep colors of autumn. You really can’t go wrong choosing a date in any of these months!
From a floral perspective, April is also my favorite. It welcomes my favorite delicate but hearty and cool-weather plants and flowers. I love welcoming the hellebores, anemones, tulips, ranunculus, and varieties of daffodils, peonies, hyacinths, and lilacs back to my shop in April. Whenever I walk into the floral shop in the spring, I get so giddy!! The colors, textures, and unique blooms, it is all so perfect! If you have a very specific vision for your wedding flowers, consider meeting with your florist before securing your wedding date, they may recommend certain months over others if you want specific flowers! For example, if you’re dreaming of a bouquet filled with fresh peonies you’ll want to stay away from October.
Every season has a collection of beautiful blooms, and often many overlap! In the summer, we love using the cosmos, love and a mist, zinnias, and dahlias. And if you’re dreaming of Lily of the Valley as the show's star, May will be the BEST month for you to host your wedding. It’s the only month you can get this beautiful yet delicate flower!
Here’s the thing. I may be a sucker for spring and summer flowers, but the fall flowers are in their own field. Dahlias, mums, roses, fall leaves, dried flowers, and more start to flood our shop. And often, our fall brides are more experimental with color, which we LOVE!! The only downside to the fall is that we start to see the spring florals slowly fade away, so if you’re getting married in the fall, don’t try and set your heart on having peonies, tulips, hellebores, lilacs, hyacinths, or lily of the valley, they’ll be nearly impossible to find or extremely expensive to import.
An outdoor wedding in Tennessee is beautiful. You truly cannot go wrong with any month (well, maybe steer clear of July because it is HOT and HUMID), but truly, August through November and March through June are absolutely spectacular. If you’re struggling to choose a month, consider the flowers you have to have and go from there!
